A loud and angry group of anti-wind turbine protesters disrupted North Perth Council last night.

It was standing room only when Invenergy Director of Development James Murphy described a potential project that is being developed involving parts of the municipality and neighbouring Perth East.

Murphy indicates a low density 23 to 27 wind turbine development is being proposed but everything is in the early stages and a “permitting effort” has not been initiated.

He was heckled repeatedly, blocked from exiting and later escaped with a police escort.

Information sessions on the potential Invenergy wind turbine development will be held at Veky’s Tap and Grill in Listowel from 9 to 11 a.m. and the Countryside Fellowship Hall near Dorking from 1 to 3 p.m. tomorrow. Public Open Houses are scheduled for February 15th including one at Parkview Gardens in Listowel starting at 7 p.m.
